HARCO is committed to the continued education of our team  We take pride in the many educational designations that our teammates currently hold, or are in the process of study to complete.

ACSR

The Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) designation emphasizes the vital role of the customer service representative on behalf of the Independent Agency System as well as the citizens and communities of Texas and the nation.   This designation is earned by attending a series of classroom educational seminars, followed by an examination on each topic.   The ACSR designation can be obtained for personal accounts, commercial accounts or a combination of both for a dual designation.   Meeting the annual continuing education hours required to retain this designation is a commitment by the customer service representative who devotes his or her talent, energy and enthusiasm for the betterment of both agency and community.

ARM

An Associate Risk Management (ARM) designation is a professional designation which is

earned only after successfully completing three national examinations given by the Insurance Institute of America. The curriculum covers the risk management decision process as it applies to any organization.

CIC

The Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation is earned after successfully completing five course parts covering all major areas of the insurance field, followed by five comprehensive examinations.   The designation is awarded by The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research, the nation’s foremost provider of professional insurance and education.

The CIC program is designed to meet the practicing insurance professional’s need for technical knowledge in all areas of the insurance industry.  CIC institutes include Personal Lines, Commercial Casualty, Commercial Property, Life and Health, and Agency Management.   One of the cornerstones of all National Alliance programs is the relevancy of the curriculum to current insurance and risk management practices.  This concept is supported by the strict annual continuing education requirements.

CISR

The Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation emphasizes the important role of the customer service representative on behalf of the Independent Agency System as well as the citizens and communities of Texas and the nation.   This designation is earned after a series of five classroom educational courses have been attended and an examination on each topic has been passed.  The CISR courses include insuring the exposures for Personal Auto, Personal Residential Property, Commercial Property, Commercial Casualty and Agency Operations.  The use of this designation is supported by strict annual continuing education requirements as directed by The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research.

CPCU

A Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is an insurance professional who has earned the CPCU designation. CPCUs are considered the standard setters of the insurance industry, and although professionally diverse, each shares the same dedication to insurance excellence.

In order to achieve this prestigious designation, insurance professionals must meet the following requirements:

Education – CPCUs pass national exams on topics including insurance law, accounting, risk management, and ethics. CPCUs must continually update their base of insurance expertise by participating in technical and professional development workshops and seminars.

Ethics – CPCUs promise to abide by a Code of Professional Ethics, placing the customer’s needs before their own.

Experience – CPCUs must meet an experience requirement to become a CPCU and have proven insurance expertise and knowledge.

CPIW / CPIM

The Certified Professional Insurance Woman / Man (CPIW, CPIM) is a designation awarded by the National Association of Insurance Women and is available only to its members.  NAIW’s curriculum offers a wide range of educational opportunities for the insurance professional.  NAIW is dedicated to allowing the insurance professional to pursue their educational goals and receive continuing education to better serve their customers, community and the many industries which depend on them.
